In today's society we are constantly bombarded with diet plan after diet plan. How do we tell which ones are good diets and ones that are SCAM diets?
First.... let's evaluate some common misconceptions of "healthy" diets....
Processed Frozen Dinners = not good for you and contain A LOT OF UNHEALTHY/UN-NATURAL INGREDIENTS. CHECK OUT THIS PICTURE BELOW TAKEN RIGHT OFF THE PRODUCT WEBSITE WITH THE NUTRITION FACTS (or lack of nutrition in my opinion) LOOK AT THAT INGREDIENT LIST!!!! That's incredible.
TRUTH --- THE FEWER INGREDIENTS THE BETTER!
TRUTH --- if can't pronounce 1/2 of the ingredient list.... its MOST LIKELY NOT GOOD FOR YOU
MYTH --- butter is bad..... FLASE! Butter is better then any hydrogenated oil, margarine and other FAKE butters. Our bodies know how to break down a REAL product such as butter.... it does not recognize margarine. (believe it or not, Butter is a good fat...). Cocoanut and grapeseed oils are excellent to cook with and help LOWER BAD CHOLESTEROL AND RASIE GOOD CHOLESTEROL.
MYTH --- lower calories intake =weight loss. NO NO NO.... it comes down the the quality of food. (many people seek gastric bypass and have a smaller stomach.... however, when you eat less because your stomach is being artificially smaller but eat all sugars and unhealthy/unnatural food -- IT WILL COME BACK AND BITE YOU IN THE TAIL!
SUGAR IS NOT OUR FRIEND! YIKES -- BUT TRUE! It's not just the sweets we need to worry about but the carbs we eat that turn to sugar in our bodies....
Some alternative GOOD CARBS are
FOODS THAT ARE HARMFUL...
HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP
FOODS THAT CONTAIN CHEMICALS
ALL PROCESSED FOODS.
A good rule of thumb.... if the food product has a expiration date within 7-10 days.... IT'S MOST LIKELY GOOD FOR YOU!
